Sara is at the beach with Mom and Dad. The sun is bright. The sand is warm under her feet.
Sara walks to the water. She sees something on the sand. It is small. It has a spiral shape. She says, "What is this?"
"It is a seashell!" Dad says. Sara picks it up. She holds it to her ear.
"I can hear the ocean!" Sara says. She puts the shell in her bucket.
Sara walks along the beach. She sees more shells. She picks up a white one. She picks up a pink one. "One, two, three shells," she says.
The water comes close to her feet. It is cold. Sara jumps back and laughs.
She sees something moving in the sand. It is small. It has claws. She says, "What is this?"
"It is a crab!" Mom says. The crab moves sideways, fast. Sara watches it dig into the sand and disappear.
"Where did it go?" Sara asks.
"It is hiding," Mom says. "Crabs like to hide in the sand."
Sara wants to build something. She uses her bucket and a small shovel. She fills the bucket with wet sand. She turns it over.
"Look!" Sara says. "A sandcastle!" She makes three more towers next to it.
Dad helps her find small sticks. They put them on top of the towers like flags.
Sara looks up. She sees something white and big in the sky. It moves slowly. She says, "What is this?"
"It is a cloud," Dad says. "It looks like a big fluffy sheep, doesn't it?"
Sara looks closer. "Yes! A sheep cloud!" She laughs.
The wind blows. Sara feels it on her face. It smells like salt and water.
Mom calls her. "Sara, do you want to swim?"
"Yes!" Sara runs to the water. She splashes with her feet. She laughs loudly.
At the end of the day, Sara looks at her bucket full of shells. "This was the best day," she says. "I found shells, I saw a crab, and I built a sandcastle."
See you next time, Sara!
